STAT 338 - Predictive Analysis

Course Description:

Students will study methods for predicting future events and properly classifying data using both supervised and unsupervised statistical learning techniques. Additionally, they will learn methods for predicting and classifying; Model Selection; Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of a model/prediction.

Course Description:

Students will work on a research project with a client acting as a consultant on the statistical and computational aspects of the project. Students are required to meet with a client, develop a strategy for addressing their problem, and present their results to the client (and their classmates). They will be expected to leave the class with methods learned to address real world problems, oral and written presentation skills, and collaboration skills.
