Course Description:​

This course develops an understanding of the research process from problem formulation through research report preparation. Both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies are discussed. The focus is on using research results in marketing decision-making. Empirical data are analyzed using state-of-the-art analytical tools. Students will identify managerial problems, research objectives, and design data collection instruments, and sampling procedures.  Data collection and analysis are discussed. Cases, exercises, and/or a written research proposal or report are the primary outcome of the course.

MARK 399 - Ignatian Design Thinking*

  • MARK 201 C- or +

  • Junior Standing

Course Description:​

Students will take action through design thinking methods and mindsets. Design thinking means need-finding through empathy that leads to innovation. Collaboratively, teams frame problems, gather inspiration, generate ideas, make ideas tangible, test to learn, and share values-based solutions. Together with an Engaged Learning Chicago-based client, teams co-design an end-to-end design deliverable aimed to enhance career portfolios and LinkedIn profiles. Students also participate in Loyola¿s Virtual Undergraduate Research and Engagement Symposium.
